The Kawayan Marine Reef Hostel is situated along the southern coast of Malabuyoc, a sleepy town located on the southwest coast of Cebu. This resort has native cottages made of nipa, bamboo and other local materials and the crystal clear turquoise water teeming with marine life is the perfect haven for those who seek refuge, to unwind and relax, and enjoy the water.
There are a lot of activities to occupy and entertain the guests. Enjoy adventure tours like dolphin-watching in Tanon Strait, go kayaking, snorkeling or diving and discover colorful fishes, corals and the resort’s pride, their giant clams, cave-exploring, hiking and tours of the town’s mountains, springs and waterfalls and of neighboring towns. At night the sound of the waves rushing to shore are a soothing aid to slumber in their cozy and spacious bamboo rooms built on stilts above the sea.
Prior to your arrival at Kawayan Marine, foreign visitors may fly direct to Cebu City and take a taxi for the South Bus Terminal. Local visitors may also opt to travel by plane or board a passenger boat bound for Cebu City and take a taxi from the airport or seaport for the South Bus Terminal. At the bus terminal, look for buses bound for Bato-Barili… the bus ride takes 3-4 hours with a 15-minutes stop-over either at Barili or Moalboal. The bus fare range from 130-150 pesos. When aboard, just inform the driver or conductor that you are getting down at Kawayan Marine Resort in Sto. Nino, Malabuyoc.
